My first big investment, something actually bought with my own savings, is a second-hand red Marin Rocky Ridge mountain bike. Although it doesn't come with suspension, it has a gel seat and shimano gears. And apparently got it at a really really low price for what the bike was worth.

Went for a bike ride yesterday, from home all the way to sembawang. The journey there took roughly 1 hour 15min. The ride was... much longer than expected. Yio Chu Kang Rd, Lentor Ave, Yishun Ave 2. Those roads sure extended for quite a distance. Note to self, while on yck, travel on the side with direction against lentor ave, continue on side for lentor ave. It's easier to get to the turn in to lentor. After hitting yishun ave 2 switch to the other side of the road and cycle under the mrt tracks because the bicycle track there would ensure less pedestrians to deal with.

Thank God for gel seats because without the gel seats the lack of suspension at the fork would have killed my ass altogether. The curbs were really high, it was a good thing that this bike has bigger wheels than the previous one, hence able to traverse those high curbs. Otherwise dismounting over and over again would be such a chore. Not to mention the possibility of flying off if i decided in being gung-ho and jumping the curb.

Hooked on the anime Mai Hime now. It really is an awesome show, the character development- most of the main characters are girls, the variety of characters- if you actually had black hair, they'd be in the minority, the dynamics and most importantly the action- they have really intense fight scenes. HELL YEA!

Hmm driving lesson in a while, then ls at night.

Sometimes you wonder if too much of a thing, an activity would cause the spark of interest/ passion for it to diminish. And if the onus to perform and subsequently the inability to meet the supposed requirement would result in an attitude of dread and reluctance. Supposedly however, this enthusiasm should be sufficient in being the wellspring to fuel a greater determination to overcome, what would be, a temporary obstacle.

Now to see if this enthusiasm, or simple matter of ego to just not fail or be any inferior would be an adequate palliative.
